The hotel first opened on July 1, 1976 as The Casino, and later Bingo Palace in 1977. It officially became Palace Station in 1984. Despite recent renovations starting in 2016 completely de-theming the casino, parts of it's original railroad and palace theme still remains.

Bourbon Street Hotel and Casino (named after New Orleans' Bourbon Street) was a small hotel and casino near the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. Opening in 1980 as the Shenandoah Hotel, the property was plagued with licensing and financial difficulties from the start. Ownership changed hands several times, with new proprietors often envisioning major renovations or redevelopment, but none of the plans came to fruition. Finally, in 2005, it was bought by Harrah's Entertainment (later Caesars Entertainment), who closed and demolished it.

Founded in the late '50s as Frontier Fidelity Savings and Loan Association in Las Vegas, Nevada, Frontier Fidelity Savings got their start with a single location. Locals embraced the hometown bank, and they soon began opening additional branches to better serve their customers. As Las Vegas grew, so did Frontier Fidelity, leading to their eventual purchase of a large Nevada bank that dramatically expanded their footprint and their holdings. After decades of strong growth, Frontier Savings failed in December 1990, at which point they went into receivership and were taken over by a multinational investment bank.

"Casino Center" was a downtown branding effort that came and went in the 60s. 2nd Street was renamed "Casino Center Blvd" in the middle of this campaign. It was the first but not the last time downtown competed with the Strip for visitors. They also built a billboard sign along I-15 approaching Las Vegas, 1967 that read Downtown Casino Center → 10 Minutes. The name change has stood the test of time, as for that "Downtown Casino Center" sign, it was built by the same team who made the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign. They first placed it near the site of the present-day Cosmo, then later moved it out to the highway. Unfortunately its now long gone.

The Paddlewheel was a river-boat themed hotel and casino located on 305 Convention Center Drive near the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The hotel was known for being more kid-friendly, including amusement rides and multiple arcade games. Eventually, a male revue was added, and the rides were removed, making the hotel less kid-friendly. The hotel was also known for its all you can eat crab legs and ribs. It went up for sale by Hord and Hardart in 1990 and was bought by Debbie Reynolds to become the Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Hotel.
