Totally Bananas - this is actually my phone. I use to use it before we took out the scissors and cut the land line. Unfortunately this phone cannot access a data plan and now sits on the shelf as a reminder of long conversations using our voices over great distances. I put it on a shirt because so I will have a phone every where I go!

Main part of a rotary dial phone is based in the middle of the shirt which makes the arm-parts seem like the handset.

In a time before 5g, 4g or cell phones altogether, there were landlines that tethered us to a wall, night stand or some other flat surface to place/mount your telephone to. Most of the time, when you called someone if you didn't instantly recognized the person that answered your call or vice versa, you would have to ask to speak to that person and the voice on the other end might say something like "may I ask who is calling?" All brought to each dwelling by the statuesque, telephone pole.
