Description: The Shore's surf culture can be traced back to the '60s, when Greg "Grog" Mesanko of Toms River, New Jersey hit the waves at Casino Pier with his crew. He would go on to establish what would become the Shore's premier surf shop, Grog's Surf Palace, in Seaside Park in 1970. Grog's became somewhat of a clubhouse for local surfers and played a huge part in promoting the New Jersey surfing scene, sponsoring many contests and events along the way.
