Matisse's most famous works include "The Dance" (1909), "The Joy of Life" (1906), "The Snail" (1953), and "Woman with a Hat" (1905). He is also known for his later works in which he used cut-out shapes of painted paper, which he arranged into compositions, this technique is known as "painting with scissors".
