Description: Contra is a legendary run-and-gun video game originally developed as a coin-operated arcade game by Konami in 1986 and officially released in 1987. The game quickly became a worldwide commercial success, ranking among the top four highest-grossing arcade games of 1987. Due to its massive popularity, Contra was ported to home consoles and computers in 1988, including the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), where it received both critical acclaim and commercial success. Description: 1980s style Mortal Kombat characters! They say that there are Beatles people and Rolling Stones People. In the early 90s, there were Street Fighter kids and Mortal Kombat kids. I was firmly in the Mortal Kombat camp. Mortal Kombat was this fantastic blend of Eastern and Western pop culture that really appealed to me. I thought it would be fun to draw the original Mortal Kombat characters; blending the old designs with the new character designs. I also wanted to incorporate Memphis design elements as a throwback to the 80s and early 90s.
