Description: "Chachalaca with Spectacular Tail Feathers" I sat down on a bench along the walking trail and was very surprised by my visitor, the Plain Chachalaca, especially when it fanned its tail. Photographed at the National Butterfly Center, a private nature preserve operated by the North American Butterfly Association that serves as an outdoor butterfly conservatory. It is located adjacent to Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park, near the city of Mission, Texas.
