1916. Paul Poiret was claiming to free the female form from the corset (spoiler— he didn’t) and lampshade skirts were a thing. The late teens were an excellent time for women’s fashion in general. So much skirt, so many layers. So fun. No background, for those “less is more” friends.

Yeah! I’ve always described women’s skirts from the mid 17th century as “huggable.” Just so much fabric, so much floof.
