Boga Pins and Buttons
Description: It is a member of the Headstanders family and is native to the Paraná, La Plata and São Francisco, Uruguay, Paraguay, Guaíba and Parnaíba River basins in South America. It feeds on aquatic plants, seeds, grains, fruits, crustaceans, and small invertebrates. It is found in medium-to-large rivers, often found in fast-flowing water, lakes, lagoons, and areas with dense vegetation or rocky substrates. It can reach a maximum length of 76 cm (29.2 inches).
