The Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF; French: Aviation royale canadienne, ARC) is the air and space force of Canada.[3] Its role is to "provide the Canadian Forces with relevant, responsive and effective airpower".[4] The RCAF is one of three environmental commands within the unified Canadian Armed Forces. As of 2020, the Royal Canadian Air Force consists of 12,074 Regular Force and 1,969 Primary Reserve personnel, supported by 1,518 civilians, and operates 258 manned aircraft and nine unmanned aerial vehicles. Lieutenant-General Al Meinzinger is the current commander of the Royal Canadian Air Force and chief of the Air Force Staff.

A long-range patrol aircraft, the CP-140 Aurora was first brought into service in 1980 to replace the Canadair Argus for maritime patrol and anti-submarine warfare (ASW). Its long endurance and 7,400 km range made it ideal for a variety of missions.

The Lockheed P-3 Orion is a long-range maritime patrol aircraft originally developed by the Lockheed Corporation in the 1950s. It has been widely used by various military forces around the world for maritime surveillance, anti-submarine warfare (ASW), and anti-surface warfare (ASuW) operations.

This historic event took place in August 2014 when the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum flew their Avro Lancaster Bomber to the UK for a series of events with the Battle of Britain memorial Flights Lancaster Bomber. Here depicted over Lincoln Cathedral

A simply fantastic event to witness, the first time two Avro Lancaster Bombers have flown together in the UK since the 50's. Particularly special for me as this event took place at RAF Coningsby where my Grandfather was stationed with 106 Squadron.
