Helicopters were developed and built during the first half-century of flight, with the Focke-Wulf Fw 61 being the first operational helicopter in 1936. Some helicopters reached limited production, but it was not until 1942 that a helicopter designed by Igor Sikorsky reached full-scale production, with 131 aircraft built. Although most earlier designs used more than one main rotors, the configuration of a single main rotor (monocopter) accompanied by a vertical anti-torque tail rotor has become the most common helicopter configuration. Twin-main rotor helicopters (bicopters), in either tandem or transverse rotors configurations, are also in use due to their greater payload capacity than the monorotor design.

Based in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, Oshawa Cylinder Head was a machine shop that focused on the manufacturing and machining of cylinder heads. In addition to walk in projects, they maintained contracts with several manufacturers to provide them with custom spec cylinder heads, supplying them to their Ontario engine plants for final assembly.

A helicopter is a type of rotorcraft in which lift and thrust are supplied by horizontally-spinning rotors. This allows the helicopter to take off and land vertically, to hover, and to fly forward, backward and laterally. These attributes allow helicopters to be used in congested or isolated areas where fixed-wing aircraft and many forms of VTOL (Vertical TakeOff and Landing) aircraft cannot perform.

Compared to turbos, superchargers generally provide a much broader power band with no "turbo lag." This becomes especially true when it comes to motorcycles with their high power to weight ratio, when a turbo kicking in can send the rider out of control with a sudden rush of power. Steve Nelson was a high school dropout from Chicago who built up a successful motorcycle parts business, but was seduced by the California scene and moved to Huntington Beach in 1976. Nelson opened Nostalgia Cycle, specializing in parts in accessories for American motorcycles, while simultaneously launching SuperCycle Magazine. With a goal of creating a top shelf national publication for bikers, SuperCycle was all about the chopper lifestyle and featured custom bikes, bare-breasted women, and pages of ads for mail order chopper parts. The magazine struggled the first year, but year two saw circulation reach 50k, and then almost triple that in year three. SuperCycle continued to expand its reach until a national publisher purchased it.

Trashman is a fictional character, a superhero who appeared regularly in underground comix and magazines between 1968 and 1985. Trashman is a hero of the working classes and a champion of the radical left causes. The Trashman stories are set in a dystopian near-future America, which after having been ravaged by nuclear weapon attacks, has become a fascist police state, with "vast urban conglomerations. The Trashman series is one of the very few superhero stories depicted in underground comix of the '60s and '70s, particularly as a recurring character.
