Description: The DuMont Television Network (also known as the DuMont Network, simply DuMont/Du Mont) was one of America's pioneer commercial television networks, rivalling NBC and CBS for the distinction of being first overall in the United States. It was owned by Allen B. DuMont Laboratories, a television equipment and set manufacturer, and began operation on June 28, 1942. I carried such shows as Cavalcade of Stars (a variety show hosted by Jackie Gleason that was the birthplace of The Honeymooners), Captain Video and his Video Rangers, Ted Mack's Original Amatuer Hour, and The Ernie Kovaks Show.

Over the next quarter century, the company steadily expanded its operations, evolving from a local carrier into a major force in global intermodal container shipping. In 1990, Telninger's entered into an exclusive shipping partnership with ENCOM, a relationship that ultimately led to the technology giant acquiring the company outright. Following the purchase, Telninger's Transport was rebranded as Dumont Shipping and extensively modernized under ENCOM's leadership, growing into one of the world's most efficient, technologically advanced, and environmentally responsible freight carriers.
