Description: What is Spoon Theory? Spoon Theory is a way to conceptualize the amount of energy that a person spends doing different types of activities. Spoons represent a sort of energy currency that help those living with chronic illness or disability (affectionately called “spoonies”) to manage their energy, effort, and recovery. Spoonies need to make decisions about how to “spend” their spoons, and they must be diligent about recovering and replenishing their spoons before spending more. Spoon theory was created in 2003 by blogger Christine Miserandino, who lives with Lupus. Copyright 2024 Veronica Foster / Mermaid Ronnie, All Rights Reserved
