Located in Reseda, California, the animation studio was founded in 1962. Filmation's founders and principal producers were Lou Scheimer, Hal Sutherland and Norm Prescott.

It was also Filmation that 1st used the Ghostbusters term and they even produced a live action and cartoon series called Filmation’s Ghostbusters.

Jason of Star Command is a 1978-1979 live action television series by Filmation. The series revolves around the exploits of space adventurer Jason (Craig Littler) and his colleagues, including Professor E.J. Parsafoot (Charlie Dell) and the pocket robot "Wiki" (formally W1K1). The series also stars Sid Haig as the evil Dragos, and, in the first season, James Doohan. Jason was inspired by Filmation's 1977 live-action show Space Academy, and used the same robot, Peepo.

Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids is an American animated television series created, produced, and hosted (in live action bookends) by comedian Bill Cosby, who also lent his voice to a number of characters, including Fat Albert and himself. The show features an educational lesson in each episode, emphasized by Cosby's live-action segments. In addition, at the end of the early episodes, the gang typically joins in their North Philadelphia junkyard to play a song on their cobbled-together instruments, summarizing the show's lesson.

Starfires are spaceships used by Star Command on JASON OF STAR COMMAND. The interior looks an awful lot like the interior of a Seeker. Starfires have a small module, called a mini-cat, attached to the front. The mini-cat is maneuverable and can hold up to two people. They are much faster than seekers. They are equipped with spin-lasers and stun rays.

Gatchaman Battle of the Planets

Ghostbusters (later called Filmation's Ghostbusters) is a 1986 American animated television series created by Filmation and distributed by Tribune Entertainment, serving as the sequel to Filmation's 1975 live-action television show The Ghost Busters. It is not to be confused with the 1984 film, Ghostbusters, or that film's subsequent animated television show, The Real Ghostbusters, which premiered five days later. The series followed Jake Kong Jr. and Eddie Spencer Jr., sons of the original Ghost Busters from the live-action comedy series of the same name, along with Tracy the Gorilla, who had worked with their fathers. Their headquarters, termed Ghost Command, is located in a haunted mansion nestled between a number of tall skyscrapers.
