Gasket Pins and Buttons
Description: Brothers Joe and Tom Hrudka began street racing in the late '50s, though it wasn't until the early '60s that they got serious about it. Runing a '55 210 in the D/Gas Class, the boys refined their ride until winning the '62 Nationals, and along the way, found a need for better exhaust gaskets, as the stock ones were prone to failure. The brothers went about creating an alternative and were soon testing them on their own cars and those of fellow racers, who wanted more of them. Encouraged, they began manufacturing gaskets in their garage. Their enterprise grew, and in 1964, needed a name, and they decided on Mister Gasket. And since it was the '60s, they figured they needed a mascot, so they came up with a hot rodder named Corky.
