Description: Cobra (sometimes referred to as Cobra Command) is a fictional terrorist organization and the nemesis of the G.I. Joe Team in the Hasbro action figure toyline G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero and G.I. Joe: Sigma 6, as well as in related media. Cobra was first introduced during the launch of the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero toyline in mid-1982. The toyline was accompanied by a Marvel Comics series, written by Larry Hama, and an animated television series by Sunbow and Marvel Productions. However, the origin and portrayal of Cobra has differed in each of them.

To him, war is simply man's expression of his most natural state. It is the perfect example of where the fittest survive and where many technological advances are made. His biggest client, thus far, is Cobra with whom he maintains an alliance of convenience. Despite being a manipulative person, Destro maintains a sense of honor and actually respects the Joe Team for their skills or expertise.

A cabal of Cobra scientists led by Dr. Mindbender and Destro raided just about every tomb to contain history's greatest warriors. They scrounged every scrap of DNA they could that would serve as the genetic blueprint of this super soldier. Thanks to Mindbender's genius, Serpentor is imbued with the memories and experience of these legendary men. His creators neglected to take into consideration that the warriors from which Serpentor's DNA come from also happen to be cunning and ruthless leaders.

Zartan can alter his skin color at will to blend in with his environment and is a practitioner of several mystic martial arts. He is also a ventriloquist, a polyglot (speaking over 20 languages and dialects), and an acrobatic contortionist. Zartan and the Dreadnoks have also been known to use holographic technology and other means to disguise themselves.

He also has a reputation for telling tall tales and for his poor culinary skills. It seems he is the only one who can stomach his own cooking. Description: Special Missions (IDW) In the 3-part Special Missions Dreadnok's story, starting in Special Missions #5, we see that Heart wrencher is Zartan's girlfriend. But he quickly grows tired of her. In Special Missions #6 he shoves her, and she falls off the bed, theoretically landing on her backside. But when we next see her later in the issue, she has a black eye. When we see her in Special Missions #7, she is now riding on the back of Monkeywrench's motorcycle, so she is theoretically his girlfriend now.
