Indian Heritage Pins and Buttons
Description: Kirtimukha is an auspicious guardian often found at the facade of a Hindu temple or above the columns of a Buddhist monastery. He appears wrathful and ferocious to symbolize his bravery and glory of divine power to ward off all evils and unclean spirits. Legend has it that the Tai Chi symbol in-between the eyes is enforced to further protect and defend all occupants of a building.
Description: The Khanda is the symbol of the Sikhs. It reflects some of the fundamental concepts of Sikhism. The symbol derives its name from the double-edged sword (also called a Khanda) which appears at the center of the logo. This double-edged sword is a metaphor of Divine Knowledge, its sharp edges cleaving Truth from Falsehood. The circle around the Khanda is the Chakar.
