One of my favourite pieces from a city renowned for it's graffiti art! Sadly, it has now been painted over. (love the bird in it's tummy, and the teardrop!) A few months ago a solitary Rufous Night Heron appeared at the Pelican Pond at Melbourne Zoo in Victoria, Australia. The word must have spread about the free food - now there are at least half a dozen of these gorgeous birds!

These colourful birds really are the same species - believe it or not! The red and blue one on the left is the female and the green one is the male Eclectus Parrot. They have a nest in this hollow tree in the Great Aviary at Melbourne Zoo in Victoria, Australia. Think she's scolding him - maybe he didn't do his share of the housework!

One of the largest butterflies in Australia, these Cairns Birdwings are also amongst the most colourful. This beautiful specimen lives in the Butterfly House at Melbourne Zoo in Victoria.

Looking out over Halls Gap township in Victoria's spectacular Grampians National Park is The Pinnacle. From this extraordinary vantage point, you can witness breathtaking views for miles around!
