[104views 7/9/14] Newcastle, Australia The lighthouse was constructed in 1858 on what was originally an island. A breakwater complete with railway lines was built later to connect it to the mainland (see this site for more of the history). The rail lines are now almost wholly covered by sand. However, this 1925 shot shows how the line and the island/headland used to look. Bellinger River National Park A vintage travel badge design of Bellinger River National Park with Bellinger River and Unspoilt Forest in Darkwood New South Wales Australia.

My latest installation in St Edmund's Anglican Church Maroubra (20th Nov 2013), this image of Christ is based on several sculptures and paintings from the 20th century depicting Jesus the Comforter. The Biblical quotation was chosen by the donor and the window is in memory of her husband Wally Williamson. I have positioned the figure to the left of centre with His hand outstretched in an attitude of invitation, inviting the observer to come and sit beside Him and chat, to unburden his or her sorrows and be comforted.

Waves crash over the rocks at Bombo Quarry as storms roll in from the sea beyond. This is definitely a place where you have to watch what the waves are doing before you put your tripod down so you can make sure it won't get swept down into the rocky gorges beyond!

The Milky Way stretches across the sky above the Fingal Head lighthouse in northern New South Wales. We were lucky to be able to see the Milky Way at all, since it was intermittently raining in between patches of completely clear skies.

Dangar Falls in Dorrigo, northern New South Wales, Australia. This photo was taken in 2006 with a Fuji FinepixF810 camera. I went back 2 years later hoping to get a longer exposure with my Canon 400D (with silky waterflow) but the light was too bright, so I had to make do with doctoring this photo to make it more interesting. I'll have to get an ND filter for the next trip. I love the patterns in the cliff at the edge of this waterfall.
