The Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral (translates to Our Lady of Paris) is a historic Catholic cathedral situated on the eastern half of the Île de la Cité in the fourth arrondissement of Paris. It is widely considered to be one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture and is among the largest and most well-known church buildings in the world. Looking along th River Seine to the magnificent cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris before the fire in August 2019. This image has been given an art finish. Work starting on its construction in 1150 and It was completed in 1260 but was added to over succeeding centuries. It was badly damaged during the French Revolution and then, during renovation work in 2019 was extremely seriously damaged when it caught fire but hopefully reconstruction will be successful and it will stand proudly once more.

This is an image of Pont Notre-Dame taken from an adjacent bridge. The Pont Notre-Dame bridge crosses the Seine in Paris and links Quai de Gesvres on the Rive Droite with the Quai de la Corse on the Île de la Cité where the Notre Dame Cathedral is situated. The bridge is noted for being the "most ancient" in Paris.
