1984 George Orwell Big Brother design. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strenght.

Knowledge is power. The only difference between today's big companies (and totalitarian governments) and Big Brother is that the technologies they use to track us are much more advanced. And the difference between us and Winston Smith is that we give our information to them voluntarily.

Hopefully this is the last version of this design I'll have to produce... :(

I honestly don't like 1984 as a piece of literature, but quotes from the novel are very reflective of our current state of politics. This design features various quotes from the novel, some repeated, to make the title. See my other liberal political designs (in the Feminist and LGBTQ section).

This design is the all seeing eye with the typographic text asking what would Orwell think

Nineteen Eighty-Four: A Novel, often published as 1984, is a dystopian social science fiction novel by English novelist George Orwell. It was published on 8 June 1949 by Secker & Warburg as Orwell's ninth and final book completed in his lifetime. Thematically, Nineteen Eighty-Four centres on the consequences of totalitarianism, mass surveillance, and repressive regimentation of persons and behaviours within society. Orwell, himself a democratic socialist, modeled the authoritarian government in the novel after Stalinist Russia.

Someone didn't care for INGSOC's sign, "Big Brother is watching you," so they added a little commentary in Newspeak. Big Brother is doubleplusungood! Orwell's 1984 is a bit too appropriate for our current political situation. See my other liberal designs in the Feminist and LGBTQ album.
