Description: The Osaka Kintetsu Buffaloes (大阪近鉄バファローズ, Ōsaka Kintetsu Bafarōzu) were a Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) team based in Osaka, Japan, which was in the Pacific League. In 2005 the team was merged with the Orix BlueWave to become the team now known as the Orix Buffaloes. The team played in Fujiidera Stadium, and later in Osaka Dome. Although the team won four Pacific League championships, they lost all four Japan Series in which they played. The team's batting lineup was known as Itemae Dasen (いてまえ打線).
Description: The Osaka Tigers are one of the oldest professional baseball clubs in Japan, playing their first season in 1936. Their fans are known as perhaps the most fanatical and dedicated in all of Japanese sports -- often outnumbering the home team fans at away games -- and have a reputation for rough behavior and a willingness to brawl with the opposing teams' fans, if not amongst themselves. After their 1985 Japan Series win, fans that resembled Tigers players jumped into the Dōtonbori Canal in celebration, but when no one resembled Caucasian first baseman Randy Bass, a statue of Colonel Sanders was stolen from a KFC and dumped in the river in his place, beginning what became known as "The Curse of the Colonel."

Description: The Osaka Tigers were a Japanese professional baseball team founded on December 10, 1935, playing their first season in 1936. The team name was once again changed back to Hanshin Tigers in 1961, and remains the team name to this day, making them the second-oldest professional club in Japan. The Tigers' home field has been Koshien Stadium since day one, a venue considered to be sacred ground not just fans of the Tigers, but for Japanese baseball fans everywhere.
