Discovered this stack of lobster traps at Covehead Harbour in Prince Edward Island Canada. Lots of colour here. Do the lobster traps reminded you of waterfront condo designs? The traps are loaded on the wharf for 'set day' - the start of the lobster season. There are two lobster seasons on PEI. I discovered this small church in the rural community of Uigg (pronounced U-igg) during my travels of Prince Edward Island, Canada. The elegant simplicity of the Uigg Baptist Church is a testament to the Scottish pioneers who settled the area in 1829, coming from their home in Uig, Isle of Skye. Constructed in 1874, it has the original clapboard siding, with sets of 3 Gothic Revival windows complete with glazing bars and original glass on each side. Came across these commercial fishing huts and lobster traps during my travels of Prince Edward Island, Canada. Love the early morning tones of this image. This is in Montague located within the town of Three Rivers in Kings County, PEI. The port is a base for commercial lobster fishing. There are two lobster seasons on PEI. St Pauls Parish Charlottetown PEI by Debra Martz This historical anglican church was constructed in 1896, marking the third building on the same location. The initial structure was built in 1769, making this parish the oldest on the Island. The church has a sturdy exterior composed of large sandstone blocks. And just look at how green things are. We were here in October, a few days before Canada's Thanksgiving, to see the colorful fall foliage. But, nature has its own time schedule! Founded in 1819, Victoria was once a bustling seaport with schooners and steamboats making regular visits. Now a popular tourist spot for summer visitors to the Island province.

Irish Settlers Memorial Charlottetown Canada by Debra Martz From the Plaque: The Irish Settlers Memorial honors over ten thousand early immigrants to the island. The granite Celtic cross symbolizes both Ireland and Christianity. The circular terrace embraces thirty-two flagstones, distinctive relics imported from each of the counties where the settlers had originated. The memorial faces the harbor at three tides where the immigrants entered upon their new lives.
