Description: Calico Jack’s Public House opened their doors in Falmouth, Jamaica way back in 1763, though at the time of their opening, the establishment was simply called The Falmouth Public House. The tavern was allegedly founded by the son of famed pirate, John "Jack" Rackham, more commonly known as Calico Jack. W. Calvin Bonny was the offspring of Calico Jack and Anne Bonny, one of the few female pirates in recorded history. The spoils of her piracy days under Calico Jack are what afforded Calvin to return to the bustling port of Falmouth and open his tavern that would pass to his son and then grandson before being renamed Calico Jack’s Public House some time in the 1800s after the reality of piracy had been transposed with romance and excitement.
Description: Starting in 1954 in Sacramento, CA, Shakey's Pizza Parlor and Ye Public House went on to be a tremendous hit in the late 60s, early 70s with it's Dixieland jazz, welcoming vibe, and pizza and beer. This pays homage to their earlier logo which was a shining beacon in the night for hungry square dancers of North Carolina in the 1970s. Distressed for 70s authenticity. Pepper flakes, anyone?
Description: The Boar's Head Inn was a tavern in Eastcheap in the City of London which is supposed to be the meeting place of Sir John Falstaff, Prince Hal and other characters in Shakespeare's Henry IV plays. The Boar's Head Tavern is featured in historical plays by Shakespeare, particularly Henry IV, Part 1, as a favourite resort of the fictional character Falstaff and his friends in the early 15th century. The landlady is Mistress Quickly. It was the subject of essays by Oliver Goldsmith and Washington Irving.
Description: Set on a remote island off the west coast of Ireland, “The Banshees Of Inisherin” follows lifelong friends Pádraic (Colin Farrell) and Colm (Brendan Gleeson), who find themselves at an impasse when Colm unexpectedly puts an end to their friendship. A stunned Pádraic, aided by his sister Siobhán (Kerry Condon) and troubled young islander Dominic (Barry Keoghan), endeavours to repair the relationship, refusing to take no for an answer. But Pádraic’s repeated efforts only strengthen his former friend’s resolve and when Colm delivers a desperate ultimatum, events swiftly escalate, with shocking consequences.

Description: Established in 1623, Gloucester, Massachusetts is America's oldest seaport, so it would make sense that it's also home to some of America's oldest public houses. The city's very roots are tied to the sea, so it should come as no surprise that most of the taverns carry a nautical theme of some sort. One such example is Voyagers Tavern, a watering hole that has been serving up drinks to salty sea dogs since 1889 right off the Inner Harbor.
