Legio I Germanica, the 1st Germanic Legion, was a legion of the Imperial Roman army. The legion was possibly founded by Gaius Julius Caesar. The legion was disbanded in 70 AD by the Roman emperor Vespasian and merged into the Legio VII Gemina.
