Risque image (au but as double entendre & also meaning I think to the point) taken from a book plate I have that was published 1894 I think the signature indicates the original was by Lucio Rossi (see below) Lucio (or L or Louis or Lucius) Rossi was born in Rome 23 January 1846, Rossi moved to Paris in 1867 to work as an illustrator gaining a reputation for his work in various journals and periodicals. However, he is best known for his genre-paintings and exquisite portraits of finely-dressed women in luxurious domestic settings. Rossi died in Paris in October 1913.
