Rock N Roll Pins and Buttons
Description: Vince Lombardi High School keeps losing principals to nervous breakdowns because of the rowdy students' love of rock 'n' roll and their disregard of education. A new principal, the rock-music-hating Miss Togar, is brought in with promises to put an end to the music craze, but when Miss Togar and a group of parents attempt to burn a pile of rock records, the students fight back and take over the school. When the police are called and demand that the students evacuate the building, they do so, which leads to an explosive finale. For better or for worse, this is the synopsis of the 1979 musical comedy, Rock 'n' Roll High School.
Description: The Archies were a fictional rock band that is best remembered for their appearance as an animated TV series, though first appeared in comic book form in 1967. Studio musicians were assembled by Kirshner in 1968 to perform various songs, leading to several LPs and singles being released. "Sugar, Sugar" is the most famous, and went to number one on the pop chart in 1969, sold over six million copies, and was certified gold. In the Hot 100, it was ranked as the No. 1 song of that year, the only time a fictional band has ever claimed the annual Hot 100 top spot.
