I've been trying to play with retro styles lately, and this was based off an old 1970's t-shirt that I found. I tried to imagine how this pattern would feel on an old shirt, so the tri-blend t-shirts with their heathered styles are probably the best fit. I also did a distressed version of this for a wash and wear feel.

At the World Famous Jungle Cruise in Anaheim, a series of gunshots fired indicate problems with the ride or boats. a "6 Shot" situation is the worst, meaning your boat has come off it's guide. From the dock, hearing 6 "bangs" is a rare occurrence, but standing there when you hear it is an unforgettable experience. (This is a very specific and niche design, really just for Jungle Cruise Skippers from DIsneyland...)

Next time you're at the zoo, pay close attention to the penguins. Was that a twitch of the food bowl? A hint of something down a secret tunnel? A small nuclear explosion? ....nah. Probably not.

Jungle Skippers have a style all of their own, and we celebrate that with our "Skipper Wear" shirts. For the subtle Jungle Skip who wants to make a statement, but doesn't want it blaringly loud through a bullhorn (As you may have noticed, much of our work revolves around Disneyland’s Jungle Cruise Skipper culture. This is a reprint of a design we did for our 2016 Kickstarter campaign, and a few people have asked for it to be available again. Proudly proclaim that you are going to live life like it was a ride... a theme park ride... with fake animals. But one that you are going to conquer with style, panache, and a snappy hat. I don’t get the fascination with pirates. They were filthy, alcohol soaked, scurvy mouthed, bug ridden boat roaches. They didn’t have respect for a man’s property, respect for ladies, or even respect for basic hygiene. Yet, for some reason we idolize them, give them a theme park ride, and 5 movies. One of our "lost" designs from our first version of the Skipper Store, but showcasing that cannibalism jokes and caffeine never really go out of style.

To a Jungle Cruise Skipper, there's nothing like the feeling when you step into a bote. (Sure, some people call it a boat, but we know how to spell it.) It's a magical feeling, where you feel utterly comfortable to be yourself, and you know that you belong. In other words... home.

I don't know about you, but the Jungle Cruise at Disneyland has always made me wonder... what do Hippos watch for Saturday Morning Cartoons? Wait, I'm the only one? Really? Well, enjoy this shirt anyway. (Our artwork is art by Skippers, for Skippers, and this artwork by the magical Richard Wallace. Richard is also the artist for the King of the Skippers card game.)

The boats of the Jungle Cruise use a signalling system involving shots on their .38 special pistols. 3 shots means your boat cannot proceed, and serves as a warning to those before and after you. Sometimes we have those moments in our lives. We can’t move forward or back. We’re stuck, where we are. The moments set in. The panic. The fear of being stuck in a boat (metaphorically) with 48 people staring at you for what seems like an hour. We all have felt the way we feel when a boat goes 3 Shot… But just keep calm. Let everyone know what is going on. That you’re all right. And just Three Shot…
