Description: Joseph Crimpky began as a silent movie extra and soon progressed to leading man, newly named Buck Riptide. During filming in the California desert of "Dashing Defender of Justice," he fell into a mine shaft mixed with uranium and bat guano and transformed into a superhero. With his new strength and agility, he retained the movie costume for his new identity.
