Steeple Pins and Buttons

This interesting little church sits proud atop a mound in the little village of Blackness, near Linlithgow, Scotland. Built in the late 1800s Blackness Mission Church is linked with Carriden Parish Church 3.5km upriver. It is still open for worship, services being held at 10am on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. The six sided steeple is one of several architectural features. With the sun beating down and silhouetting the steeple and cross I thought this would make a dramatic photograph. The Chapel on the Mount is located at Goldsmith Ghost Town in Arizona.

Using a photograph I took of this country chapel I applied some digital art techniques to create the watercolor effect. This country chapel was built in 1871 and is still used for services to this day.
