Description: Edward J. Funk & Sons, founded in 1936 in Kentland, Indiana, became a trailblazer in the hybrid seed industry with the launch of Super Crost hybrid corn—a product known for its high yield, disease resistance, and crop uniformity. The company expanded into a full range of seeds and remained influential until selling to Garst Seed Company in 1990. Though operations ceased, the Super Crost legacy lives on across rural America through its iconic signage and agricultural impact.
