The reanimated corpses are blind, because their eyes were pecked out by birds while their hanged bodies rotted on the gallows.

This image shows the main courtyard of the Ming Tombs, taken from a high vantage point and facing the main entrance. A bit of a write-up and history of these tombs have been given in previous images related to the tombs ( if you're interested). Just on a side note, the weather that day was pretty crappy (very foggy and rainy and miserable and bright highlights with no definition in the sky), therefore not conducive to wide angle photography at all. This is the best that can be done when exposing overall scenes like this (and all the other images I posted from the Ming Tombs). But I hope you kinda like this one. The Ming tombs are a collection of mausoleums built by the Chinese Ming dynasty emperors. The majority of the Ming tombs are located in a cluster near Beijing and collectively known as the Thirteen Tombs of the Ming Dynasty. However, the first Ming emperor's tomb is located near the City of Nanjing. This site is located on the southern slopes of Tianshou Mountain, and was chosen based on the principles of Feng Shui by the third Ming dynasty emperor. After the construction of the Imperial Palace (known today as the Forbidden City) in 1420, the Yongle Emperor selected his burial site and created his own mausoleum. At present, only three tombs are open to the public. The Ming Tombs were listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in August 2003. Born as Zhu Di, the Yongle Emperor was the third emperor of the Ming Dynasty in China, reigning from 1402 to 1424. His name was romanized as Yung-lo or Yonglo Emperor.
