Description: "Cao Wei" (曹魏) was one of the three major states that competed for supremacy over China in the Three Kingdoms period, based in the northern part of China. Established by Cao Pi in 220, based upon the foundations laid by his father, Cao Cao, towards the end of the Eastern Han dynasty. Below the kanji is drawings of Cao Cao (曹操, center), Dian Wei (典韋, right) and Xu Chu (許褚, left).
Description: "SHU" (蜀) or Shu Han (蜀漢) was one of the three major states that competed for supremacy over China in the Three Kingdoms period, based in the area around present-day Sichuan and Chongqing which was historically known as "Shu", founded by Liu Bei, who claimed himself as the descendants of the Han Dynasty, and thus named his state "Han" as he considered it the legitimate successor to the Han dynasty. The Three Kingdoms (220 - 280 AD) was the tripartite division of China between the states of Wei, Shu, and Wu.
Description: Yoshitsune “義経”, Minamoto no Yoshitsune, one of the greatest and the most popular warriors in the late Heian and early Kamakura periods, and also considered as one of the most famous samurai fighters in the history of Japan. Kamakura God of War “鎌倉戰神” is the praise given to Yoshitsune for his great achievement in military and bravery in battle. In the background is kamon of Minamoto clan, Sasa Rindo (笹竜胆) or “Gentiana flowers upon bamboo”.
Description: Legio nona Hispana was a legion of the Imperial Roman army that existed from the 1st century BC until at least AD 120. The legion fought in various provinces of the late Roman Republic and early Roman Empire but was then stationed in Britain following the Roman invasion in 43 AD. The legion disappears from surviving Roman records after c. AD 120 and there is no extant account of what happened to it.
