Description: The tulkun is a large intelligent marine creature native to the oceans of Pandora. They are similar to Terran whales which are endangered today. Tulkuns are slightly transcendent, being sentient and highly cultured, including rich family histories, mathematics, poetry, and sophisticated music.They have their own language, individual names and can communicate with the Na'vi who use sign language. They are very close to all of marine reef clans; for instance, the Metkayina clan see them as siblings. Each Metkayina member engages a lifelong bond with a tulkun early in their life, whom they call their spirit brother/sister. They celebrate each others' families, the birth of a new child and mourn the loss of a family member.
Description: The Metkayina are an oceanic Na'vi clan located on Pandora's reefs. The clan is led by Tonowari and Ronal who live in the clan's main village, Awa'atlu. This clan makes use of their extensive and diverse habitat in many ways and has a close relationship with water; just as clans such as the Omatikaya and Olangi ride direhorses to trek the landmasses of Pandora, the Metkayina use ilus as their companion of choice for gliding across the Pandoran oceans.
