From an original acrylic work, this shows the harbour in Weymouth and conjures up the unique vibe of a busy coastal holiday town in UK. This was painted from an original photograph taken on vacation in 2007 but some things never change and Weymouth is one of them. Originals of my work are now in collections in UK, America and Europe.

Weymouth became popular with tourists after King George III's brother built a grand residence there in the late 1700s and the king himself chose to holiday in the town for 14 successive years. Weymouth Rover Number of views as of 4th March 2018 = 875. A rather fine classic car, pictured on Weymouth promenade (Dorset, England), believed to be a 1948 Rover 12 Sports Tourer. Rover 12 production began in 1905 and continued until the late 1940s, with several 'updates' along the way and gaps in production during the war years. Evening in Weymouth Number of views as of 8th October 2018 = 1210. Probably my favourite view of Weymouth harbour, facing east towards the harbour entrance, taken from the lifting bridge, with the sun slowly sinking behind the camera. Location: Weymouth, Dorset, England (venue for the 2012 Olympic Sailing events). In days gone by, Weymouth and the surrounding coastline had a history of smuggling, though it was also the centre of preventive operations for the area. Date: 10th May 2008. Nothe Fort, Weymouth, June 2021 On the ramparts of Nothe Fort, overlooking the seaside town of Weymouth (Dorset, England) is an ant-aircraft gun emplacement, a rusting relic of the Second World War, and a reminder of a conflict which ended over 75 years ago. The fort was built between 1860 and 1872 by the Royal Engineers, as part of Britain's coastal defences, to protect Portland and Weymouth Harbours, with Portland then becoming an important Royal Navy base. Used during both World Wars, the fort was abandoned in 1956 and was purchased by Weymouth and Portland council in 1961. It is now an interesting museum and one of the best-preserved forts of its kind in the country. Date: 13th June 2021.

Jubilee Clock Tower, Weymouth, January 2023 This clock tower on Weymouth Esplanade (Dorset, England) was built to commemorate Queen Victoria's 1887 Golden Jubilee. The plaque reads: JUBILEE MEMORIAL ERECTED BY PUBLIC SUBSCRIPTION THE CLOCK BEING THE GIFT OF SIR HENRY EDWARDS " Date: 30th January 2023.
