16/11/09: "The events of today inspired me to paint something to represent strength and defiance against what looks like a massive step back in progress with equality. This election has people scared and further alienated, and I wanted to paint something that represented the fact that there is still power in the oppressed, and it's important for us not to just lay down and accept whatever's handed to us, but to continue fighting for basic human rights, to be seen as equals, and not to live in fear for the safety of ourselves and our loved ones.
