The Duel This is a digital painting of the duel between the 1978 Triple Crown winner, Affirmed and his close rival, Alydar. This is the finish line of the Belmont Stakes, the final leg of the Triple Crown. While the 1970's were fortunate enough to have 3 triple crown winners, of which Affirmed was the last, we went through a dry spell of no winners until 2015 when American Pharoah became the 12th and newest member of this elite club. This painting was painted on an iPad air 2 using the app Procreate. This painting would look great as a living room or den artwork or even in a tack room at a ranch or stable.
