The original picture is B4 size, drawn in graphite pencil on watercolour paper. It was inspired by several things: firstly, the crowned eagle emblem of the Royal College of Surgeons. Next, an interview with a prominent surgeon in a magazine, in which he said that patients with "uncontrolled psychiatric illness" found it "difficult to comply". As the overall tone was negative towards patients with MI, this darkened my view of him and surgeons in general. This picture shows the surgeon and his partner feeding the heart of a dead, non-compliant MH patient to their eagle deity. This picture is the latest in my Hell Surgeon series.
