St Mary's Lighthouse and island lie north of the River Tyne and Whitley Bay on the North Sea coast of England. The lighthouse is now a museum and tourist attraction which is only accessible at low tide. The image was taken on an October morning shortly after sunrise with a lovely soft light and the calm conditions were excellent for the lighthouse reflection in the water left by the retreating tide. The image was then converted to black and white to emphasise the drama of the sky.
