What an adorable badger species here. Hog badgers (genus Arctonyx) are mustelids distributed primarily in Southeast Asia, starting from Sikkim and northeastern China to Thailand. They are found on the Indian subcontinent and the island of Sumatra. Did you know the word belette means weasel? It´s curious because the different words for the weasel as animal, are usually related with the#women in some way. I think I talked about this is a post years ago, but I´d like to repeat it today. Maybe is because weasels are so "femenine" in their look, so stylish, elegant, delicate but fierce and mighty animals, as the women empowerment represents. Curiosities: Clawless otters are characterized by only partial webbing (between the toes of their back feet and no webbing on their front feet), and small, blunt, peg-like claws. Latin name "Aonyx" means without claws. Asian small-clawed otters are the smallest extant otter species, about 100 cms included the tail and only weights 1 to 5.4 kg.
