Description: Founded in Chehalis, Washington, in 1942, Del’s Logging built its reputation by going where other outfits wouldn’t. Specializing in the harvest of big timber from steep, remote, and hard-to-reach country, the company relied on rugged crews, heavy cable equipment, and no small amount of nerve to pull massive Douglas fir, cedar, and hemlock out of the forests of southwest Washington. From muddy mountain grades to deep ravines and isolated timber stands, Del’s became known for tackling difficult jobs that demanded both skill and ingenuity. For decades, its trucks and equipment were a familiar sight around Lewis County, carrying some of the region’s biggest logs down out of the hills and on toward the mills.
