Enter the Dragon (龍爭虎鬥) is a 1973 martial arts film directed by Robert Clouse and written by Michael Allin. The film stars Bruce Lee, John Saxon and Jim Kelly. It was Lee's final film appearance before his death on July, 20 1973 at the age of 32. An American and Hong Kong co-production, it premiered in Los Angeles on August 19, 1973, one month after Lee's death and earned more than 400 times its budget, making it one of the most profitable films of all time. Bruce Lee plays a martial-arts expert determined to help capture a narcotics dealer whose gang was responsible for the death of his sister. Lee enters a kung fu competition in an attempt to fight his way to the dealer's headquarters with the help of some friends.

Clinton Engle Howard (born April 20, 1959) is an American actor. He is the younger brother of actor and director Ron Howard. He is best known for his roles in the films The Waterboy and Apollo 13, and his role as a series regular on Gentle Ben when he was a child. He also did an episode of “Men from Shilo”. He has appeared in many films directed by his brother, Ron, as well as many low-budget cult films.

Avalanche Express is a 1979 Cold War adventure thriller film starring Lee Marvin, Robert Shaw, Maximilian Schell, and Linda Evans and produced and directed by Mark Robson. The story sees Soviet general Marenkov as he attempts to defect to the West, and CIA agent Harry Wargrave leads the team that is to get him out. Wargrave decides that Marenkov should travel across Europe by train, on the fictional "Avalanche Express" to lure the Russians into attacking the train and discover who their agents in Europe are. Consequently, during the train journey they must survive both a terrorist attack and an avalanche, all planned by the KGB. Avalanche Express was the last film for both Shaw and Robson, who both died during production in 1978.

Long before streaming was a thing, you had to hunt and peck for hard to find movies on VHS, especially those in the horror genre. If you were lucky, you had a mom and pop video store that shared an interest in obscure cinema and carried stuff that the chain video rental places didn't. For most of us, this meant finding a VHS mail order business. A subsidiary of Los Angeles based adult film distributor, Select-a-Tape, Midnight Video specialized in low-budget exploitation horror films in stylish VHS display packaging. They sold through mail order ads in the back of horror magazines and comic books. Cinephiles would check off the boxes next to the titles they wanted, write a check, and then send off their order.

The first thing you noticed walking into a Video King store was the smell of the complementary hot, buttered popcorn, a favorite of kids accompanying their parents. The rest of the store was pretty standard fare — wall-to-wall videos organized by category, a few toys and collectibles, and eventually, video game rentals. In the early 2000s, as video stores began to buckle under pressure from online video streaming, Video King cut their massive stores in half and dropped 'Superstore' from their name, but this was short-lived, with the chain ultimately closing up for good.

Nukie is a South African direct to video science-fiction film that was released in 1987. Largely considered an E.T. knockoff, the plot follows an alien named Nukie, who crash lands on Earth and seeks help from two children to reunite with his brother, Miko, who has been captured by the U.S. government. Nukie is considered one of the worst movies ever made, and had pretty limited distribution, resulting in somewhat of a cult following. An online auction for a graded copy of Nukie sold for $80,600, making it the most expensive VHS tape in history.

Thriller Theater was a local television series that ran on WOR-TV in New York City from 1971 to 1972. Airing an eclectic range of classic science fiction, horror, and thriller B movies back to back on weekday afternoons, Thriller Theater was a regular favorite for locals who liked it weird.

Movie Gallery opened as a small specialty video store in 1985 in Dothan, Alabama. The next five years saw them grow to about 50 stores, but tn the '90s, an aggressive expansion strategy saw the chain become one of the biggest video rental operations in the U.S., with over 950 locations. In the early 2000s, Movie Gallery was the second-largest rental chain in the U.S. and Canada, with over 4,700 stores worldwide. Despite the company's meteoric rise, by the end of the decade, digital downloads and streaming had taken their toll on video rental stores, and Movie Gallery was not immune. In April 2010, the company was headed into bankruptcy, and began liquidating all of its stores... the last Movie Gallery locations were closed in August 2010.
