The Southern Chimaera is found in the cold, deep waters around Antarctica and can be found at depths of up to 2,000 meters. The Southern Chimaera has a unique appearance, with a long, tapered body, a large head with a prominent snout, and large, wing-like pectoral fins. Its skin is a dark brownish-black color, and it has small, tooth-like scales covering its body. The Southern Chimaera has a venomous spine on its dorsal fin, which it uses for defense.
