Manor Gardens, Hinton St Mary Number of views as of 14th December 2016 = 350. A view of the gardens at Hinton St Mary manor, near Sturminster Newton (North Dorset, England). The village of approximately 200 inhabitants hit the news headlines in 1963, when a Roman mosaic believed to depict the head of Christ was discovered in the village. The mosaic is now an exhibit in the British Museum. The manor house has been the home of the Pitt-Rivers family for 400 years. Date: 13th June 2015.

Crossing La Coupee Number of views as of 27th June 2018 = 775. La Coupee is a narrow strip of land, just 10 feet (3 metres) wide, connecting the island of Sark (in the Channel Islands) and the peninsula of Little Sark. There are no motor cars on Sark, only tractors and horse-drawn transport. Here, one of the island's horsemen negotiates the narrow causeway. This has to be done at quite a speed to give the vehicle enough momentum to get up the slope behind me. And with a sheer drop of 260 feet (80 metres) either side, there is little margin for error. Morgan Number of views as of 28th September 2016 = 650. Another superbly turned-out Morgan to add to my collection (I wish)! If you can't have British Racing Green, then this full-bodied, claret paint job comes a close second. The Morgan Motor Company is the last remaining, family-owned, independent, British motor car manufacturer. They build about 100 cars a month, each one subject to exacting standards of design, craftsmanship and performance. Date: 28th September 2014. Location: Sherborne, Dorset, England. Winner of the England - South and South West group's 'Have You Seen A Car' challenge, 13th July 2014.

Bridge over the River Wye Number of views as of 18th July 2018 = 2380. This bridge crosses the river Wye in the border town of Chepstow, south Wales. The bridge was opened in 1816. Date: 31st March 2008. This shot was featured by the Wales, Rich in Beauty group, 25th February 2009. Click here to see my Wales collection.

Autumn Colours in Wiltshire Number of views as of 8th July 2016 = 1000. Lovely autumn colours reflected in a lake in Wiltshire, England. Date: 24th October 2010.

Collection Point Bee Number of views as of 22nd March 2017 = 630. Captured in the village of Cley-Next-The-Sea, North Norfolk, England. Thankfully, there do seem to have been more bees around this year. Good thing too IMHO. Date: 7th August 2010. Click here to view my East Anglia gallery.

Freshwater Bay Number of views as of 14th December 2016 = 400. The chalk cliffs at Freshwater Bay on the Isle of Wight on a breezy day in October. The coast path climbs Tennyson Down and heads west towards Scratchell's Bay and The Needles. Date: 29th October 2012.

Wand Shop Number of views as of 13th October 2017 = 2120. 'Makers of Fine Wands since 382 B.C', or so reads the inscription over the doorway of the wand shop in Diagon Alley made famous by the series of books and films about a popular wizard character, whose name I am apparently not allowed to mention any more. Date: 9th March 2014.

Old Portsmouth Harbour Number of views as of 25th April 2019 = 730. Number of sales as of 25th April 2019 = 8. A view of Camber Dock, Old Portsmouth (Hampshire, England) with the 170 metre landmark Spinnaker Tower in the background. Date: 2nd January 2012.

Poole Bridge Number of views as of 25th April 2016 = 300. This shot shows Poole Bridge, which is situated at the western end of Poole Quay (Dorset, England) and links the main town of Poole with the suburb of Hamworthy, the site of Poole's ferry terminals. The bridge was constructed in 1927, replacing an older swing bridge on the same site and it is still in regular use, being lifted 7 times a day to allow maritime craft to pass from Poole Harbour into Holes Bay and vice versa. In the foreground are the Royal National Lifeboat 'City of Sheffield' (a Tyne class lifeboat formerly stationed at Whitby) and the Harbour Police RIB. Poole also has a new bridge, the Twin Sails bridge, officially opened in April 2012. Sometimes it even works! Dat...

St Morwenna & St John the Baptist, Morwenstow Number of views as of 22nd March 2017 = 880. The Parish Church of St Morwenna and St John the Baptist, Morwenstow, North Cornwall. The church stands overlooking a beautiful valley leading down to the Atlantic coast. The Reverend Robert Stephen Hawker was the vicar here from 1834 to 1875, and made a lasting contribution to the Church by originating the Harvest Festival. He was also known for his condemnation of plundering from wrecked ships and as an accomplished poet - he even built a driftwood hut overlooking the nearby cliffs from where he wrote. The QuarterJack Number of views as of 20th November 2018 = 400. Standing high on the West Tower of Wimborne Minster, the QuarterJack strikes his bell every quarter of an hour, ringing out across the Dorset market town. The Minster itself, a former monastery and Benedictine nunnery, is the resting place of King Ethelred of Wessex, and is over 1300 years old. It is famous for its unusual chained library, one of only four surviving chained libraries in the world. Date: 28th June 2008.

Upper Slaughter Number of views as of 12th April 2018 = 625. The idyllic Cotswold village of Upper Slaughter near Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water (Gloucestershire, England) is one of only 14 so-called 'doubly thankful' villages in England & Wales. Doubly thankful because the village men who went to fight in the Great War and in the Second World War all came back home again. The River Eye runs through the village and is forded just here. Date: 30th October 2014.

Red Bridge Heaven Number of viewings as of 15th May 2017 = 380. I'm always tempted by images of red bridges in Japanese gardens, but in this shot there are not one, but FIVE such structures! Taken in the grounds of Wilton House, Wilton, not far from the city of Salisbury, Wiltshire, England. Date: 4th April 2015.

Old Harry Number of views as of 22nd April 2019 = 1330. Old Harry Rocks are situated on the Dorset coast between Studland and Swanage. They mark the eastern end of the "Jurassic Coast" World Heritage Site, stretching from here to East Devon, demonstrating a rich geological history going back 185 million years. The chalk stack on the right is I believe Old Harry himself, though there does seem to be some disagreement about this. The name 'Old Harry' may be a synonym for the devil, or it could be that the rocks were named after a famous Poole pirate, Harry Paye, who used to store his contraband nearby. There is absolutely no truth in the rumour that the rocks take their name from English football manager Harry Redknapp, a resident of nearb...

One for the Road Number of views as of 30th October 2015 = 600. The Morgan is the most iconic of British sports cars. Founded in 1910 by Henry Frederick Stanley Morgan, the Morgan Motor Company has been producing hand-built motor cars at its factory in Malvern, Worcestershire, England for over a century. The sleek lines and distinctive radiator grill are the hallmarks of the brand, and in external appearance the cars have changed little in the last 50 years (why change perfection many owners would argue). On the inside however, modern engines, gearboxes and other advances continue to make the Morgan a highly sought after sports car. Expect at least a 12 month wait if you are lucky enough to be able to order one tomorrow! Date: 30th June ...

River Coln Number of views as of 3rd September 2018 = 1130. A lone tree by the River Coln, flowing between the Cotswold villages of Coln St Aldwyns and Bibury, Gloucestershire, England. Date: 8th April 2012.

The Tea House, Compton Acres Number of views as of 18th July 2018 = 1380. Another shot of the Tea House in the Japanese Garden at Compton Acres, Poole, Dorset, England. Compton Acres was laid out in 1924, in a Victorian mixed style design with seven distinct gardens to wander around and enjoy, including the fine Japanese and Italian Gardens. The Japanese garden is superbly planted with and maintained, with stepping stones and bridges crossing the pond, where large koi swim close to the surface. Date: 8th May 2010. The Italian Villa, Compton Acres Number of views as of 14th August 2018 = 2420. The Italian Villa is a recent addition to the renowned Compton Acres gardens near Canford Cliffs (Poole, Dorset, England).
