Yes, I wear scrubs for work, but I'm not your nurse or doctor. I'm your Rad Tech. I take your x-rays so the nurses and doctors know how to help you.

Just like donuts, it's always time to take the x-rays. X-ray in the morning, X-ray in the evening, X-ray in the wee hours of the night. Because one thing is sure, even though you just took the x-rays, it's time to take the x-rays again. That's the rad tech life.

If I have to have one more X-ray or CT exam, I'm going to glow in the dark. And rad techs work better in the dark. Although, you can't actually end up glowing in the dark, unless you're getting a nuc med or PET scan, except for those few milliseconds when the beam in on, but you only glow in the dark right then. This artwork does not actually glow in the dark.

I saw a butterfly recently that had beautiful faces in the wings. I decided to do my own version with the Death's Head Moth and some skulls. I forgot how much I enjoy working on skulls. I have a pretty simple but complicated system when I work with colors. For each color, I typically have 1-2 shadow colors and 1 highlight color. I shift the shadows one way and the highlights the other on the color wheel. Certain colors always have the same result mostly because of my own personal preference. For example yellow-green has a green shadow and yellow highlight. In this drawing, I forced myself to go against my instincts. I'm happy with the results, but it felt SO wrong. A lot of my work is really spontaneous. I start sketching with a simple idea such as a silhouette of a skull. As I work, it evolves. I almost scrapped this one. The sketch was SO bad in the beginning. Glad I stuck with it. http://www.artisticdyslexia.com/
