Jane Seymour (c. 1508 – 24 October 1537), also known as Jane Semel,[2] was Queen of England from 1536 to 1537 as the third wife of King Henry VIII. She succeeded Anne Boleyn as queen consort following the latter's execution in May 1536. She died of postnatal complications less than two weeks after the birth of her only child, a son who became King Edward VI. She was the only wife of the King to receive a queen's funeral, and his only consort to be buried beside him in St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle.

Anne Boleyn, c1501 - 1536 CE, was the second wife and queen consort of King Henry VIII of England. She was accused of treason, divorced, and ultimately beheaded becoming in the process one of the most famous queens in all of British history. Upon her marriage to Henry VIII their initials-- an entwined "H" and "A"-- were carved throughout Hampton Court. However, after her fall, these were ordered to be destroyed as Henry VIII strove to remove all traces of his previous wife. Only a few managed to survive-- missed by the workers-- normally in difficult to reach places. I've based my version of Henry and Anne's monogram on one of these overlooked carvings that can still be found in Hampton Court.

Your favorite carnivorous plant

Pastel on Mi-Teinte 'Tex' paper (burgundy) - 75cm x 55cm approx. This one came off the easel yesterday. My pastels really enjoyed this! Because of the full sheet size, I was able to swipe those pastel sticks around with gay abandon, concentrating on blue/orange complementary colours. The reference was obtained from a spot on the Goulburn River near Seymour, Victoria. I made a few small sketches to capture the colours, and took some reference photos too.
