The Man-Thing is a large, slow-moving, empathic, humanoid swamp monster living in the Florida Everglades near a Seminole reservation and the fictitious town of Citrusville in Cypress County, Florida. A young biochemist, Dr. Theodore Sallis, is working in the Everglades as part of the Project Gladiator team, a group of scientists attempting to recreate the Super Soldier Serum. Dr. Sallis is transformed into The Man-Thing through the synergistic interaction of mystical energy and swamp mutagens, coupled with a dose of the Super Soldier Serum. Though the beast now lacks a normal human intellect and has shed any desire to communicate with human society, it nevertheless often becomes an accidental hero as it stumbles upon people in need.

The Greatest American Hero is an American comedy-drama superhero television series that aired for three seasons from 1981 to 1983 on ABC, yet remains strangely memorable for some reason. This design features the iconic icon on the superhero's chest along with a nicely seasoned vintage effect.
