The notes carry what everyone skips: wash and block before measuring, count the middle, not the border, needle size is a suggestion but gauge is the requirement. Off half a stitch per inch over two hundred stitches, and the sweater runs four inches wider than planned. Plate 10 in a series of technical drawings of craft things.
