By the end of 1966, sales had climbed to more than $43 million. In 1969, STP® became a public corporation, and shares went on the American Stock Exchange under the symbol “STP”. STP sponsored its own Indy Car racing team, featuring Mario Andretti, the winner of the 1969 Indianapolis 500.
