Description: Rob Base

Description: Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock. 1988. "I wanna rock right now, I'm Rob Base and I came to get down" — the opening line of a Profile Records single that went platinum and never left the party. Built over Lyn Collins' "Think (About It)" break — the same drums James Brown produced in 1972 — It Takes Two turned a soul record's rhythm section into one of hip hop's most reliable breakbeats. Set in Pump — white fill, a dark brown inline, then rings of orange and deep red stacked around it. Built for black. Every My Type of Lyrics shirt carries a Spotify code. Scan it and the original plays. Instant. If you were there — you already know. If you weren't — scan the code first, then order the shirt.
