He was the founder, owner and principal engineer at Electrical Audio, a recording studio complex in Chicago. It has been estimated that he worked on several thousand albums over his career.

Along with Black Midi, Squid, Shame, Idles or Girl Band, Black Country is one of the most interesting rising hype bands that mixes rock, punk, post-hardcore and jazz with influences of Scott Walker, Slint, Arcade Fire, Neutral Milk Hotel or Godspeed You Black Emperor among many others. Their second album, Ants from Up there marked a departure from the obscure noise-rock and post-punk of their debut towards a more folksy and beautiful post-rock with spaces for a lot of silences and slow building climaxes.
